Stripes turned girly--recycled tee tutorial!

For a long while now I have loved stripes, particularly white/black or white and navy, but I tan and white is super cute too!  And grey and white.  Usually strips are preppy, though, but I've been seeing them in drapey and girly looks at Anthro etc.  So when I got a tee at Goodwill Outlet in tan and white stripe, I looked around for inspiration:
These from Anthropologie:

And these from Ruche:
Funky, huh?
So I took this plain 5-10 year old boat-neck tee from Gap that I got at the Goodwill Outlet and cut it up!
I used a tank that I had as a pattern to cut it out:
I used the sleeves to make bias strips:
I cut about half of the bias strips up pretty small and ruffled them.
I had fun sewing them on haphazardly, I didn't really know when to stop!  I just kept adding swirls, waves, curls, until it looked like this:
I love it!
